Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster advertising a stamp issued by the U. S. Postal Service in 1981. The poster consists of a light brown background with a color drawing of Whitney Moore Young Jr. kneeling to talk to a group of African American children. The title "Whitney Moore Young Jr." is in brown text at the top of the poster. The poster also includes a color image of the Young stamp and a quote from Young. The stamp was available after January 30, 1981. The poster is affixed to the board with tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. The board is marked in red ink on the back, "3." This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
