Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with six posters. One of the posters is the front cover of the poster series with the text, "NORTH AMERICAN / INDIAN / PERSONALITIES" in black text on a multicolored background with a color photographic image of potter Maria Martinez below. The remaining five posters consist of a color photographic image or drawing with the person's name, tribe and a brief biography below in black text on an orange background. The posters are for Ella C. Deloria, Chief Joseph, Orville Moody, Carlos Montezuma, and Arthur Parker. The posters are part of a series entitled, "North American Indian Personalities" produced by The Instructor Publications, Inc., in 1980. Two of the posters are affixed to the board with metal studs. The board is edged with green tape. The front and back of the board are covered in wood design contact paper and the front is also covered in clear plastic. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
