Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a black and white printed document that consists of four sections, entitled, "Thai Sampan", "Chinese Characters", "Language Bingo", and "Haiku". The first section consists of written and pictorial instructions on how to make a paper Thai sampan. The second section consists of a description of Chinese characters and instructions on how to write them. In the third section entitled, "Language Bingo", there are instructions for two games using Asian words that are used in the English language. The last section consists of three black and white photographic images of the natural world, examples of Haikus, and suggestions on how to write one. The board is edged with red tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
