United States Postal Service (USPS) 25c postage stamp honoring Jesse Owens issued on July 6, 1990. The drawing of Owens depicts him at the starting blocks of a track race at the 1936 Olympic Games. This stamp is part of the United States Postal Services' Olympian series. This stamp was part of the "I Have a Dream" collection. The set came with pre-gummed mounts so that they could be affixed in the album, "I Have a Dream: A Collection of Black Americans On U.S. Postage Stamps." (see Watson Reading Room book WRR-2319). |
