Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with four documents about baseball players Satchel Leroy Paige, and Josh Gibson. The central document is a black and white copy of brief biographies of Paige and Gibson. The entry for Gibson has a black and white photographic image, but the image for Paige is obscured by another document which has a photographic image of Paige and a brief caption. The last two documents are in color and consists of brief biographies of Paige and Gibson and color drawings of the United States postage stamps for each man. The text states that both stamps were issued on June 6, 2000. The documents are affixed to the board with green tape and the board is edged in red tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
