Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with two black and white posters. The poster on the left is entitled, "Think Of It As A Boomerang", and consists of a black and white image of a bullet. The text below reads, "What goes around comes around. / It doesn't have to happen to you. / STOP THE VIOLENCE". The poster on the right is entitled, "To Order Yours, Just Get Involved With Drugs", and consists of a black and white image of thirty-nine bullets with a name and life-dates under each bullet. The year of death for all entries is 1989, and the year of birth ranges from 1957 to 1975. The text below the image reads, "To stay away from violence, stay away from drugs. / It doesn't have to happen to you. / STOP THE VIOLENCE". The posters are affixed to the board with black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
