Description |
Group of 299 stereographs (stereo cards) for use with stereopticon (B2008.04.01). The cards are mounted with two photographs to produce a stereo effect. Some of photographs are in black and white and others are in color. Below is a listing of the number of cards under each theme. Set 1: 49 cards with black and white photographs of the Sears, Roebuck & Company, Chicago, IL. The cards are numbered 1-50 (number 44 is missing). Set 2: 55 cards with color (or colorized) photographs of Native Americans, camping and hunting. The cards are marked as A8835, and are numbered between 403 and 500 (405, 407, 408, 411, 415, 418, 422, 425, 428, 429, 433, 434, 437, 440, 441, 444, 447, 450, 451, 453, 455, 458, 459, 461, 463-465, 467, 473-476, 480, 483, 484, 485, 487, 488, 490, 491, 494, 497 and 498 missing). Set 3: 96 cards with color (or colorized) photographs of sights in Europe, Russia and Egypt. The cards are marked as A8723 and are numbered between 801 and 900 (811, 814, 854, and 865 missing). There is an additional introductory card to the "Around the World" series, but it does not match the remainder of the cards. Set 4: 98 cards with color (or colorized) photographs of children, daily life and nursery rhymes. The cards are numbered between 1100 and 1199. There are two copies of number 110. (1101, 1105). |
