Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with two posters from the, "Women in American History" series. Each poster consists of color drawings depicting seventeen women, mostly in a scene illustrating their achievements. The drawings on the left poster are of Georgia O'Keefe, Anna Jarvis, Emily Post, Mary McLeod Bethune, Helen Keller, Anne Sullivan Macy, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Ethel Rosenberg, Margaret Bourke-White, Margaret Mead, Clare Booth Luce, Mildred Ella "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias, Katherine Dunham, Martha Graham, Katharine Hepburn, and Judy Garland. The background of the poster is green. The drawings on the right poster are of Katharine Graham, Esther Pauline and Pauline Esther Friedman, Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Gloria Steinem, Bella Abzug, Betty Friedan, Beverly Sills, Sandra Day O'Connor, Geraldine Ferraro, Barbara Walters, Elizabeth Dole, Jane Fonda, Chris Evert, and Wilma Rudolph. The background of the poster is grey and yellow. The posters were produced by Instructional Fair, Inc. The posters are affixed to the board with blue tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
