The younger woman is smoking a pipe. There is a color photograph of Martin Luther King, Jr. on a table in the background. The photograph is housed in a silver-colored metal frame with a glass front and a hanging wire attached at the back. This photograph was taken by Siegel as part of a project, grant-funded by the Alexandria Commission on the Arts, to document the Parker-Gray Historic District's Black community, 1985-1986. |
