Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a printed document entitled. "Buffalo Soldiers: "Sol'jerin was mah lot, mah trade". The document is part of the Army News Photo Features, produced by the U.S. Army Command Information Unit, Washington, D.C. It includes a brief history of the Buffalo Soldiers, six black and white drawings and five poems. The drawings depict the soldiers on horseback, talking with Native Americans and with the medals awarded to them. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
