Description |
Typewritten letter from Lewis Cass White of the Fort Stevens Lincoln Association to Depot Quartermaster in Washington, DC. White is explaining that the Association printed a history of the Battle of Fort Stevens that they have been selling to fund a memorial boulder being placed where Lincoln stood. White had left some with Superintendent Davis of Battle Ground Cemetery with neither knowing that it was against regulations to sell them there. As such White is taking responsibility for it and asks that Superintendent Davis be absolved of any wrongdoing. |
