Description |
Circular wooden plaque mounted with a bronze disc in the center and two rectangular metal plates at the top and bottom of the plaque. The central circular metal disc has an image and text in raised relief. The text reads, "RELAY CARNIVAL / FOUNDED 1895 // UNIVERSITY / OF PENNSYLVANIA". The image depicts a seated Benjamin Franklin with four male nudes standing in a line. The last figure holds a relay baton. The metal plate at the top of the plaque reads, "PARKER-GRAY H.S. / S. LUCAS / K. CROSS / H. TURNER / J. COLE / TIME 3:32". The plate at the bottom of the plaque has a decorative border and reads, "HIGH SCHOOL MILE RELAY 1962". |
