Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with a black and white copy of an advertisement for the "Black American Lives" biography panel set. The text at the top of the document reads, "Your first set of Black American Lives biography panels includes..." Below this are ten black and white photographic images of African Americans with a short biographical caption to the right of each image. The images are of Ernest E. Just, Booker T. Washington, Thurgood Marshall, Billie Holiday, Malcolm X, Madam C. J. Walker, Josh Gibson, George Grant, Matthew Henson, and Charles Drew, M.D. The document is affixed to the board with green tape and the board is edged in green tape. The board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
