Description |
Irregularly shaped cardboard display board mounted with five posters that consist of a black and white drawing of events in the history of America with a title in black ink above. The posters are entitled, "33. The Whaling Industry Booms, 1830-1860", "34. Runaway Slaves Use the Underground Railroad, 1830-1860". "35. Millions Immigrate to America, 1830-1930", "36. McCormick Reaper Opens the Door to Mechanized Farming, 1831", and "37. Texans Fight for Their Independence, 1836". The front of the board is covered in wood design contact paper and clear plastic which is taped at the back. Handwritten in black ink on the back of the board, "5." This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
