Description |
Orange Blossom Classic. There are two images on this litthographic plate (a) mounted vertically. The upper image includes five men and two trophies. The lower one shows five men, two of whom are football players holding their respective trophies. Moss Kendrix is on the left in the lower image. The brown paper wrapper (b) was folded and taped to hold the plate. "To Moss Kendrix." is written in blue ink and "25 proofs," which is crossed out and "Orange Blossom Classic" is written on the front in green ink and circled lightly in blue. A "k" is also written on the front. In January 1, 1960 San Antonio Register - Top Left to right (in reversed image) Dr. George W. Gore, Jr., FAMU President, Charles B. Bottom, Jr., Coca-Cola Company, and J. R. E. Lee, Vice President Florida A&M University (founder of event), Sidney J. Reaves, Miami Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Coach William Nicks. Bottom left to right Lee (middle), 45 is Clarence Childs (Florida) and 77 Rufus Granderson (Prairie View), and Marion E. Jackson, (left), sports editor Atlanta Daily World and co-ordinator of the 100% Wrong Club and Moss Kendrix (right). |
