Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board with printed text in black. The board has a header and footer for the "National/International Cultural Exhibits, (NICE), 35 Years Existence". The center of the board is the text entitled, "To Students... A Nation at Risk", which details the responsibilities of students for their own future, including "Have high expectations for yourself and convert every challenge into an opportunity". The text is noted as "secured from the lobby of Watkins Mill High School, Gaithersburg, Maryland". The paper is edged in red and is mounted on a board covered in wood patterned contact paper. The board is three quartered covered in plastic. The remaining quarter is uncovered and is not fixed to the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
