Description |
Irregularly shaped cardboard display board mounted with seven posters with one additional poster loose within the plastic covering of the board. The posters consist of a black and white drawing of events in the history of America with a title in black ink above. The posters are entitled, "71. The U.S. Becomes Involved in World War I, 1917", "72. The Allies Win World War I, 1918", "73. Sensational Flights Boost Interest in Aviation, 1926-1929", "74. The Popularity of Airships Peak, 1930s", "75. Great Depression Woes Are Many, 1930s", "76. Special Programs Help End the Great Depression, 1933-1939", "77. Many People Move to Urban Areas, 1940-????", and "78. World War II Begins with Pearl Harbor Attack, 1941". The front of the board is covered in wood design contact paper and clear plastic which is taped at the back. Handwritten in black ink on the back of the board, "10." This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
