Book, "Singers' Italian; a manual of diction and phonetics" by Evelina Colorni (G. Schirmer, New York, 1970). This book has handwritten annotation by Ben Holt. Inside the book were housed photocopies of two articles by Evelina Colorni and two handwritten documents by Ben Holt. The first article is entitled, "Call It Res-i-te-tev," by Evelina Colorni from "Opera News" (according to a brief biography in "The Nats Bulletin" article), concerning recitative, pronunciation and enunciation in singing, especially in a foreign language. The second article is entitled, "Italian is so Easy to Sing… or is it?" by Evelina Colorni from "The Nats Bulletin," November/December 1979, concerning pronunciation in the Italian language, with examples from opera scores. The first document is handwritten notes by Ben Holt on ruled paper in blue ink. The text has sections entitled, "The Prepalatal Consonants," "The Semi-Consonants," and "The Dipthongs." The final document is a handwritten paper entitled, "Outline" by Ben Holt. Holt's text is in black ink on ruled paper. There is additional marking and corrections of the paper in red ink.
