Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "A Tribute to the Negro Leagues". The poster consists of a central black and white photographic image of African American baseball players in their team uniforms, and an image of Satchel Paige in the bottom left corner and of Josh Gibson in the bottom right corner. At the bottom of the poster is an emblem for the 75th commemorative year of the Negro Leagues, and logos for the Seattle Mariners and Nordstrom. The poster has a blue border with gold stars. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
